We had some Christmas excitment on the farm; our goats had babies. We had 3 Nannies and 1 Billy, now we have 4 Nannies and 3 Billies. Jasmine had 3 kids (she lost one); Delia named the nanny Pumpkin and the billy Almond. Molly had 1 kid (billy) now named Hopper. The farm is growing and growing. We hope that CSA members (and other friends) can spend more time out here this summer.
Great to see the blogging is up and running! I just started working on this project called feeding the city where we are going out to farms and recording all inputs and outputs- kind of a life cycle analysis of the whole farm. And then we compare that with conventional farms and say here is where a local diverse farm outperforms conventional etc. The program is in its second year so I am getting in on the groundfloor and am really excited. I should have a lot better idea of what kind of records Clear Creek could be keeping and probably set something up for you. What are you gonna do with all those billies?

ReplyDeleteThanks for posting on the CCC blog! Remember there will be olenty of weeds to pull, seeds to plant, goats to herd this season if you want to get your hands dirty!
Take care,
Anne
Anne - I love your blog and would also love to get Luke back out to the farm this spring. I can pretty much guarantee that he would love to get his hands dirty and I am pretty sure I can pull some weeds :) Hope you are all well! Erinn
ReplyDeleteThis year, we would like to do a better job of creating a community at the farm. We want people to feel more connected to the place where their food is grown. There is nothing I love more than to see kids getting their hands full of dirt! -Clear Creek CSA
